Volunteer Opportunities

  • Mobile Market Fresh Food Distribution at NewStart Church, 795 Pollock Rd. Delaware,—need help unloading trucks to set up “produce market” & distribute food to 150 people. 1st & 3rd Mondays volunteers needed 8:00am-12:15pm–ongoing
  • Community Meals
    • 2nd Fridays (dinner served 5:30-6:30 pm)
      • 4-5 People to help serve & clean-up 5 pm-7 pm
    • 3rd Mondays (dinner served 5:30-6:30 pm)
      • 4-5 People to help serve & clean-up 5 pm-7 pm
    • 3rd Thursdays (dinner served 5:30-6:30 pm)
      • 4-5 People to help serve & clean-up 5 pm-7 pm
  • Ongoing Yard work
    • Lawn mowing, yard clean up trimming in the summer
    • Leave raking & yard clean up in the fall
    • Trimming, yard clean up, planting & mulch in the spring
    • Snow shoveling in the winter 
  • Painting projects interior & exterior scheduled as needed.
  • Cleaning projects inside or outside scheduled as needed.
  • Summer Lunch Program. Late May to early August 2023.  Monday-Friday Noon
    • Need volunteers at Andrews House 10 am-11 am to help make lunches for adults.
  • Free Legal Advice Clinic — 3rd Tuesday of every month (by appointment)–ongoing. 4:30-6:00pm @ Andrews House
  • Andrews House Board Member –Serve on the Andrews House governing board. Board meetings are the last Thursday of every month at 5pm.  Looking for people who are passionate about our mission and whose skills can benefit the governance and leadership of our organization.
  • Serve on one of our board committees such as: Fundraising, Building & Grounds, Programming, Events, or Finance.  You need not be a board member to serve on a committee.
  • IT Support (various projects, ongoing)
  • AARP Free Tax-Aide Clinic. Tax preparers. No experience needed, training provided.  Computer skills necessary.  Training in December/Jan.  Tax Prep season Feb-April.
  • Volunteers for the Zion Homeless Warming Station. When temperature is below 20 degrees.  8pm-8am (shifts are 8pm-2am & 2am-8am) @ Zion UCC church.
